Job Description
Managerial
- Assume the role of Principal on assigned projects, guiding the project team effectively
- Provide strategic and managerial direction to architects and team members, ensuring design excellence
- Oversee the project’s process, quality, resources, and client interactions
- Lead the design process and coordination across all projects with regular quality checks and reviews
- Contribute to the company’s growth by supporting Associate Directors and Directors in design philosophy and technical development
- Allocate resources, delegate responsibilities, and monitor project timelines and budgets
- Ensure documentation is accurate and submitted to department heads in a timely manner
- Maintain regular coordination meetings with other disciplines and external agencies
- Manage client correspondence and project scheduling
Technical
- Handle projects independently, with minimal guidance from the Associate Director, if required
- Lead a team of senior architects, architects, and CAD technicians from concept to tender and construction documentation stages
- Assist in preparing tender bids, fee proposals, and value judgments to meet design and performance goals
- Conduct materials research, coordinate with other specialists, and develop project specifications
- Manage the project’s program, resources, reviews, and quality assurance (QA/QC) processes
- Ensure adherence to company standards, byelaws, and fire and life safety codes
- Stay updated with industry trends, design elements, and technologies
- Prepare monthly progress reports and procurement documents for specialist consultants
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, with a Master’s or postgraduate degree
- 10+ years of architectural experience, showcasing a commitment to design innovation
- Strong commercial acumen and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and teams, with excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Strong creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving ability, particularly in on-site work
- Full knowledge of regulatory codes, fire safety principles, and sustainable design practices
- Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT, and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera
- Ability to mentor junior staff and support the broader architectural community through continuous learning and knowledge sharing
