Our client, one of the biggest players in the classified ads sector with more than 120 professionals around the world, and active in 29 countries worldwide, is seeking a Risk & Compliance Manager to join their growing and international team based in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s risk management and compliance frameworks with current legislation specific to Adult online services, contributing to improve the business safety accordingly. This role involves identifying potential risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of risk awareness and ethical conduct within the organization.
Job Description
- Identify, assess and reduce risks across all business operations by monitoring and reporting risk exposures and provide recommendations for mitigation
- Develop and maintain risk management policies and procedures, consistently ensuring adherence to laws, regulations and industry standards
- Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate controls
- Assess website routinely, identify potential concerns and present solutions to stakeholders
- Be an escalation point for law enforcement requests and data queries
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and update policies accordingly
- Work with the tech and product team on new solutions to ensure the business maintains a gold standard
- Manage internal and external audits and address any compliance gaps
- Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees, providing guidance and support to management and staff on compliance issues
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and risk assessments
- Engage and build relationships with third parties (such as NGOs) to promote business safety
Your Profile
- 5+ years experience in risk management, compliance, or a related role. Experience in a digital/adult industry would be considered a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations (e.g. AML)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Any professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) would be a plus
- Fluency in English is essential
