Our client is part of a group of companies involved in the property and construction industry in the UK. They are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Finance Manager to lead their finance function and drive strategic financial decision-making across the business. This role will be instrumental in shaping financial policies, managing risk, and supporting the company’s growth objectives through insightful analysis and stakeholder engagement, including direct interface with banks and external partners.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, reporting, and analysis.
  • Lead and manage a team of five in Cyprus and overseas
  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate cash flow reports 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, finance brokers, lawyers and other stakeholders required for the finance function.
  • Ensure bank account are open and maintained
  • Oversee the corporate governance function. Ensure company books are maintained, board resolution are drafted
  • Administrate the JV agreement with the various partnerships. Ensure the terms are adhered to and operate the operative clauses 
  • Review and managed external agents finance report, ensure they adhere to the company instruction in terms of cash flow and financial collection responsibilities 
  • Ensure robust financial controls, compliance, and risk management frameworks are in place and maintained.
  • Oversee the payment process and ensure that payment approval align with the cash flow.
  • Drive process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy within the finance team.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and oversee treasury functions.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Play a key role in strategic projects including funding rounds, M&A activities, or financial system upgrades.
  • You will report to the CEO and work alongside the accountancy team
  • Ensure tax is managed in the most effective way to minimise tax liability.
  • Prepare legal and tax advice briefs to ensure that the consultnats are working to achieve the company goals
  • Liaise with the professional consultant to ensure compliance with all necessary rules and regulations.  
  • Ensure tax advice is followed  by the different stakeholders 
  • Arrange finance for the different operations of the companies, obtain offers, compare them and agree HOT, negotiate the finance agreement on behalf of the company.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or equivalent. Post graduate degree will be considered an advantage
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in finance function such as accounting, treasury or corporate management. with at least 3 years in a senior managerial capacity.
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Strong commercial awareness and proven ability to influence strategic business decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with banks and financial institutions.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Excellent knowledge in financial software and reporting tools.
  • Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, preferably in real estate or construction.
  • Experience in fundraising, capital structuring, or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Exposure to international finance or multi-currency environments.
