Head of Onboarding

Nicosia / Limassol Cyprus Full-Time - Hybrid Working Model Managerial Level

Our client is a licensed investment firm regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and the Financial Services Board, currently hiring key people to work within Cyprus. The onboarding team currently in London consists of three employees and its purpose is to handle the onboarding of new clients. You will assume overall responsibility for leading the team in performing due diligence and KYC on corporate, institutional, and individual clients, including limited companies, offshore trusts hedge funds, regulated financial institutions, and high net worth individuals. The successful candidate will implement best-in-class technical solutions, develop and mentor the team, and lead a process to devise and implement common onboarding/KYC standards across multiple entities.

Job Description

  • Leading, developing, and mentoring a three-person Client Onboarding Team
  • Conducting initial due diligence and undertaking risk-based analysis on proposed new clients
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, regulatory, AML, and JMLSG rules and guidelines
  • Interacting in a professional manner with internal and external parties
  • Ongoing production of Management Information/KPIs 
  • Implementing technical KYC/Verification solutions to expedite the client onboarding process 
  • Developing and enhancing written processes and procedures 
  • Implementing multi-language web-based application and onboarding process 
  • Training and developing Sales teams in onboarding requirements/KYC processes 
  • Consolidating the onboarding processes and procedures with FCA-regulated sister company  

Your Profile

  • 5+ years of working experience in a similar role within onBoarding 
  • Subject matter expert in relevant regulation, KYC, AML, and JMLSG rules and guidance
  • Highly experienced in conducting due diligence on all client types on a global basis 
  • Significant experience in understanding complex company structures including regulated entities, hedge funds, trusts, asset managers
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to act independently on own initiative
  • Experience in selection, implementation, and enhancement of technical solutions to onboarding processes 
  • Previous experience as a Manager or Head of OnBoarding in a regulated entity 
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the FX market
