Sales Director

As a Sales expert, you will be the person responsible to develop the overall sales of our client’s products & services internationally. To increase sales to distributors and Retailers directly and into the Education market such as schools, afterschool centers, and Ministries of Education. You will build and supervise the sales team that will handle regional sales along with the sales administration department dealing with account management and order processing.

  • Participate in strategic decision-making for the development of both new products and new markets
  • Participate in the creation of corporate development plans and the setting of goals and requirements
  • Overview and analysis of international markets, trends, consumer behaviors, financial indicators, commercial practices and changes to measures and/or preparation of an action plan
  • Research for new good practices to increase turnover or reduce costs
  • Submitting periodic reports to management about activities, market presence, ongoing plans, customer development, sales volume, and other important elements
  • Forecast sales year and set sales target
  • Organize Exhibitions and events and travel abroad as needed to meet customers and evaluate the markets
  • Develop and oversee a general marketing plan and budget available
  • Design a master plan of the year in human and other resources
  • Training and development of department staff as well as motivation
  • Setting goals and success indicators for department staff.
  • Cost accounting preparation in collaboration with design, production, and markets.
  • Preparation of general price lists and individual price lists/offers for customers.
  • In collaboration with sellers, negotiate and conclude on each customer's trading terms.
  • Monitoring Sales Managers and Account Managers and gathering information necessary to evaluate the situation in each market.
  • Managing and developing important clients and projects.
  • Credit control of clients (credit insurance, factoring)
  • Searching for new customers or new markets and generally new company development opportunities
  • Evaluation of product promotion plans as prepared by marketing.
  • Control spending on creative and promotional material
  • Monitoring of advertising activities and evaluation of results
  • Coordination of raw materials import, production, product design and export departments for smooth order handling.
  • In collaboration with the quality assurance department, issuing required safety certificates, laboratory inspections, order inspections, and other inspections
  • Study the competition and market trends, identify opportunities and propose and implement strategies for catching up and surpassing the competition. Propose new products to the R&D team based on the market insights
  • As a manager to ensure the daily functioning of the department and group of employees
  • To hire, motivate, mentor and train new employees when needed
  • To be able to set long-term goals to ensure a company’s longevity and division's timely fulfillment of tasks
  • To effectively communicate with the other management and convey the necessary information to the various company parties including subordinates and fellow division managers
  • To complete administrative work such as weekly reporting and timesheet monitoring and correspond with other departments.
  • To carry out project management and be able to prioritize tasks and delegate according to the department’s needs and product designer's experience
  • As a leader, to motivate staff and help create an environment and culture where employees thrive
  • To enforce company policy to cultivate an environment that makes employees hold one another accountable for their actions
  • If new technologies or systems are introduced to the business, to organize subordinates’ and overall division's training
  • To encourage satisfactory work and evaluate data, KPI's and employee performance reporting to higher management
  • To make sure that the equipment, software, and machinery in his division are properly maintained and serviced
  • To be able to supervise the day to day work of the division employees

Your Profile

  • Degree in Engineering or Business Management and preferably an MBA
  • Excellent command of English language, ideally also Greek
  • Experience in sales of retail products of at least 10 years
  • Experience in management positions of at least 5 years
  • Responsibility and professionalism; strong sense of work ethic and integrity
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and perform under pressure
  • Excellent computer knowledge
