Excellent position newly available for a business analyst to work from home on a global Java enterprise system developed for the Travel Industry. This company emphasizes production of quality software, making use of software engineering principles, UML and related tools and methodologies to achieve such results. Job Description

  • Client Liaison & research
  • Work within the business domain and how it relates to the development of the software applications
  • Act as the interface between the business stakeholders and the software development team
  • Work with clients on a day to day basis
  • Research industry regulations and standards
  • Problem solving complex scenarios to create efficiencies for clients
  • Analyse the client software functionality needs and channel into a focussed logical development requirement
  • Project manage all developments together with the developers and the client (this covers the development process from resource allocation/prioritisation, analysis, design, piloting and implementation)
  • Manage all functional and user documentation
  • Support relating to the developed systems (2nd level)
  • Adhere to company development methodologies and standards
  • Analyse, identify and correct software defects arising from production issues
  • Manage new client implementations and training

Your Profile

  • Team player who is motivated and committed to make a project successful, and can fit into a structured professional environment
  • Ability to work within the boundaries of the architecture and methodologies and guidelines
  • Ability to work with agreed deadlines, working at a consistent pace to deliver quality results on time
  • Work carefully, paying attention to detail and cognisant of the effect changes can have on existing systems
  • Ability and willingness to explain and communicate within a team environment, both verbally and as part of the documentation process
  • Great communication skills
  • Structured thinker with the ability to formulate the business domain requirements into logical framework (tertiary education in areas of science or philosophy are recommended for this reason)
  • Ability to document logical structure into a precise and clear documentation using standards such as UML etc
  • Ability to research new areas and systems
  • Ability to investigate problems to find cause from a functionality perspective
  • Problem solver – Think outside the box!
  • Travel industry experience is preferred
  • Understanding of software requirement and development processes, including agile methodologies
  • Willingness to work within a structured and professional environment
  • Able to manage delivery of projects and handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
