The Database Administrator is responsible for the quality and integrity of the data, designing and creating reports and overseeing any data related queries. As the successful candidate, you will also be responsible for system settings and ensuring the system runs as expected and within the controls established by the business.

As the Technical specification analyst also, your responsibility is drafting briefs for all upgrades and new features to be added to the ATIL bespoke software system. You will also be liaising with the developers regarding the new developments and ensuring all new developments are delivered according to the specifications.

 

Job Description

  • Ensuring all issues identified within the software are reported to the developers and dealt with in a timely fashion
  • Analyzing and brief specification for additional development to the ATIL system
  • Understanding all bugs reported by users, preparing examples to demonstrate the issue to developers and ensure developers fix all issues. After fixes are applied you will be responsible for communication to the users and for setting up measures to ensure future occurrences are spotted and dealt with immediately
  • While investigating the snags, identify any training issues and you will create training tickets for the users
  • Receiving training from the Developers to understand the new features and the purpose of the new features in order to produce the reports we require form the data that will be accumulated by the new features
  • Testing all new features and existing features using the Test sheet as a guide. Preparing a snag list to be reviewed by the operations manager and ensuring all existing features are still working as expected
  • Instructing the developers to release the update given permission from the operations manager to ensure no controls in the system will be compromised by the update
  • Compiling suggestions for enhancements on the new features from the users and preparing a brief to be reviewed by the operations manager

Your Profile

  • University degree in Computer science, Finance or a related field would be considered an advantage
  • Excellent understanding of database design and experience in Transact SQL
  • Programming experience in VBA or other object-orientated programming languages
  • Favorable experience in developing reports
  • Fluency in English
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, existing relationships have to be nurtured by the position in this role
  • Able to work remotely with colleagues in other countries as well as working as part of a local team
  • Proven experience in the same or similar role
