An exciting opportunity arises with a wonderful new role for an experienced Corporate Lawyer to join an international fintech firm.


Job Description

  • Legal assistance in corporate structuring, regulatory work, obtaining licenses and launching financial products in various jurisdictions (EU, Asia etc), interactions with local and foreign counterparties and authorities
  • Drafting and reviewing of different types of contracts under laws and regulations of EU (Cyprus mostly) and England and Wales, including contracts for marketing, advertising, publishing services, IP license contracts, SPA of IP, loans, client agreements, website terms & conditions, etc
  • Legal assistance with employment law issues, including employment agreements, employment termination, etc
  • Cooperation with foreign councils on foreign law issues connected with foreign subsidiaries of the Group
  • Setting up, control and coordination of the activities of foreign subsidiaries of the Group
  • Establishment of relationships and making the process of two-way communication with regional regulators, supervisory authorities, self-regulated organizations, professional associations, etc
  • Provision of expert advice on EMIR, MiFID, PSD and other directives and regulations
  • Creation, control and keeping up-to-date internal rules and regulations
  • Provision of counsel to business functions on a variety of complex legal issues
  • Dealing with GDPR and other data protection laws (optional)
  • Leading special projects as assigned

Your Profile

  • Higher education (LL.B is essential, LL.M. is an advantage)
  • English: upper-intermediate (advanced level is an advantage)
  • At least 5 years of experience in either brokerage/fintech or consultancy (Big 4)
  • Experience in capital markets/securities/options/derivatives/betting practice of an international legal/financial company is an advantage, all areas listed above in Responsibilities should be covered
  • Strong risk management skills and ability to keep balance between company's legal protection and needs of the business (commercial goals)
  • High level interpersonal and collaborative skills
