Logistics Manager

An excellent senior-level role has arisen for a Logistics Manager to join this expanding company. The successful candidate will be responsible for any matter relating to the staff, operations, and resources of the logistics department and for reporting to principals and management.

 

Job Description

  • To supervise, coordinate and oversee all logistical operations and activities of the Company, incl. air and sea freight, warehousing, consolidation, customs clearing, and transport
  • To handle all operations and documentation to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods whether by air, sea, or road
  • To provide specialized services on a 24/7 basis to customers operating in the oil and gas industry
  • To be familiar and always ensure adherence to government rules and regulations regarding the transportation and handling of goods
  • To meet with international and local potential customers, to represent the Company and to promote its business and services in Cyprus or abroad
  • To maintain good working relations with liner agents, freight forwarders, airline carriers, and others to secure allocation of space and the best possible freight for customers
  • To contribute to and assist with the preparation of tender proposals and presentations
  • To keep up to date with current market conditions, international developments, and competition and communicate these to the top management
  • To maintain regular communication and coordinate work with customs clearing and transportation teams to ensure that customers receive professional and efficient service all the way
  • To assist with and process any claims for cargo damage
  • This role reports to the Company Manager and supervises the Logistics Officers

Your Profile

  • Post-graduate university degree and certified with IATA Dangerous Goods
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in a related field
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Applications and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal Greek and English
  • Very good communication skills and confidence in leading group conversations
  • Adherence to deadlines and effective time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Complex problem-solving ability and critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to follow and implement processes and procedures
  • Team player and ability to guide and supervise others
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good management skills
  • Willingness to work out of normal office hours
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety procedures
